We decided to do some location scouting around the Northern Virginia area for some fall portrait sessions we had scheduled and we stumbled upon a beautiful gem of a park in Annandale called Hidden Oaks Nature Center.

Hiking through the trails in the woods transported us from the busy hustle and bustle of the urban location to one of peace and solitude – a true treasure in this area! We found amazing viewpoints around each bend in the trail, stopping over and over to set up the tripod, turn on the timer and capture the beauty around us. We also captured a special moment in our lives, still feeling newly married at a year and a half, and on the verge of making a huge life change in our missional year – but there is more to come on that in the next post!
