Jordan and I took our two-week honeymoon in February, and by doing so we escaped snow’s clutches and basked in the warmth of California and Hawaii in the dead of winter. The day before and the day after our honeymoon were bookended by snow days, so our vacation was extended (in Northern Virginia)! Needless to say, our delayed honeymoon was timed perfectly– not only did we escape the cold, but our destinations were absolute bliss.
We started out our trip by flying to Los Angeles to see and stay with my best friend of nearly TWENTY YEARS. Anna drove us on the Pacific Coast Highway through mountains and valleys and later gave us a wonderful tour of the area, which included the Santa Monica Pier and a hike up to Griffith observatory for views of the city and the Hollywood sign. It was really great to see Anna and to slowly change gears into honeymoon mode. After a full Cali weekend, we were Hawaii bound! We had three islands to discover: Oahu, Kauai and Maui. I’ll let the photos tell the story since words can’t describe the beauty that we saw. Mahalo and aloha!
